What Does One Have To Do To Get An iPhone Fixed?

February 13th, 2010 James Keyes No comments

The inner works of your sleek Apple iPhone are as much a mystery to me as they are to you. However what does one do to get an iPhone fixed? The answer can be found on that unending source of information- the internet.

There are several websites out there which offer useful advice and services if you are facing an iPhone fix. All you need to do is use a prominent search engine to find any of these websites. There onwards, with some street-smartness, and by reading this iPhone fixing guide, you are sure to have your iPhone up and running in no time at all.
Here are some considerations before you need to get your iPhone fixed:

1. Whether the guarantee has expired or not: Apple offers replacement parts, repair and may even send you a replacement model of iPhone, while it is covered by its guarantee. The guarantee is valid for two years after the date of purchase. However, before using your iPhone, you should go over the terms of conditions with a fine toothed comb, since there are a large number of situations where its guarantee may expire early. This is the easiest and most economical way of getting your iPhone fixed.

2. Whether it’s possible to fix the iPhone yourself: Several software glitches can be ironed out by simple restoring the iPhone to its original factory settings and reintroducing all your music, contacts etc. later. A software glitch is much easier to fix than a hardware one. Dedicate a few hours to figuring out what exactly is wrong with your iPhone. Visit iPhone help sites, chat rooms, and forums and post your exact question on each site. This will require a lot of patience and might cause you a bit of frustration, but the feeling of figuring out a problem and making your iPhone work is quite worth it.

3. Who else can fix you iPhone for you: It is quite possible that you do not have the patience to figure out why your iPhone isn’t working, are a technophobe (what are you doing with an iPhone??), or you have a problem on your hand that is too difficult to be dealt with by an amateur. If so, you will have to look around and find a good website, or an iPhone expert in your locality who can help get your iPhone fixed. You have to remember that the job might turn out to be expensive.

It might just be economical to trash this iPhone and buy a new instrument. But if you’re choosing an outside source of help, such as a website, you still need to do some research. Some websites offer a great deal- you send your iPhone to them for a free diagnostic test and they repair it and send it back. There are also several iPhone replacement parts websites. You can buy a part online and give it to your neighborhood iPhone expert for installation.

I’m sure the whole experience of having an iPhone that does not work is a taxing one- but don’t lose hope! If you research enough and know exactly what’s wrong, it won’t be impossible to get your iPhone fixed!

The Panasonic TX-P42G10 TV

January 31st, 2010 Andrew Emerson No comments

The Panasonic TX-P42G10 is a plasma television you are able to get in the United Kingdom. It boasts a NeoPDP screen which about doubles the lumens per watt used on every plasma dot. Putting it another way, the TX-P42G10 HDTV displays the same amount of brightness all while using about half the power compared to its predecessors.

This means that it should not have problems getting brightness levels that are normally reserved for LCD televisions. Further aided by an onboard Freesat tuner and 600Hz Drive IFC Pro, the TX-P42G10’s quality picture stands out as well as other higher rated flat screen TVs that are out already.

Flip it around and Check out the back of the tv you will see signs of a high quality television build, there are two fans for cooling that make a low blowing noise that will be no problem sitting back at a normal viewing distance from the tv. There aren’t any hand hold locations like on previous Panasonic models.

Checking out the rear of the Panasonic TX-P42G10 television you will notice that it is built with quality in mind, there are two separate fans for cooling that make very little noise when you are sitting at viewing distance from the television. Unlike the previous generation of Panasonic televisions there are no insets to help carry the TV.

The TX-P42G10’s high quality speakers will blow out really loud volume and punchy bass all without distorting, but it falls short as you could expect in the area audio resolution and stereo sound due to the speakers are hidden and pointing down to the floor.

Unless you are one of the few unlucky folks who are severely susceptible seeing phosphor trails on a plasma TVs, then high-def game systems on it will be thrilling on the Panasonic TX-P42G10 thanks to the nice contrast ratio, rich colors, great detail, and virtually no lag time between frames.

TX-P42G10 is Panasonic’s first shot at claiming the throne of great plasma tvs. Even though its black quality has gotten better to the level of a low end 8G Pioneer Kuro PDP-4280XD, they still trail behind the pioneer in terms of color accuracy and standard-definition video processing.

This is Panasonic’s first try at getting to the top with great plasma TVs, its black quality has gotten so much better its to the point of high end lcd TVs, they are still behind pioneer in terms of correct color reproduction and standard-def video. Either way, if you wont look over Panasonic for leaving out controls for white balance and the TVs lower quality SD deinterlacing which is fixable by using a nice quality input source do it for you, it is an excellent value to cost thanks to its nice inky blacks, having great shadow details, nice natural colors, superb clarity of motion, hardly any input lag, and the onboard Freesat tuner, along with a wide viewing angle, and low power thirst, this is a nice television. The remote control that comes with it has large and clearly labeled buttons that give you nice touch feedback.

Iphone Repair

January 26th, 2010 James Keyes No comments

If you have a broken iPhone and are in need of repairs you only have to look as far as the Internet for a repair service. However when you are doing research for an iPhone repair service there are some things you should look for.

First, be sure you use a service that sounds trustworthy. They should have a good reputation in the business. You need to be able to leave your iPhone with their repair professionals confident that they are the best at what they do. If in doubt try reading their customer reviews, checking them out on eBay Feedback or simple Google them.

Your phone should be covered under a warranty (usually 90 day parts and labor). If you have any issues with a repair within the first 90 days, all you should have to do is contact them. They should guarantee that they will correct the problem in a timely manner. After your warranty period has expired, your iPhone should return to its original Apple Manufacturer’s warranty if your coverage is still in effect.

Their repairs should be so meticulous and professional that even Apple’s own technicians should be unable to distinguish their work from their own, should you decide to return your phone to Apple. They should also be able to provide a fast turn around time. They should offer free First Class return shipping. You also have the option of being able to upgrade to overnight return shipping, via Fed Ex, for a nominal fee.

You should be able to talk to real people on their customer service number rather than waiting painfully through endless menu options. You should be able to contact them during regular hours Monday through Saturday to ask questions or check the status of your repair. You should not have to wait for a reply via e mail.

They should specialize in iPhones, so you should be able to trust your phone to these iPhone repair professionals. They should have diagnosed and repaired every kind of damage possible to the iPhone, so regardless if you have run it over with a car or dropped it in a toilet, they should be able to diagnose and fix your iPhone at a reasonable cost.

This will cause the computer to recognize it as a new device and install the software on it like it’s never been used before.

However, be advised that everything you have on it now will be gone. If you managed to hook up the iPhone to a new computer you can sync it to that computer. It will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to sync it to this one; do so. WARNING! Do not make the mistake of disconnecting your Iphone 3G while syncing is in progress or else you will get stuck in the restore mode again.

If you do not have another computer to sync it with use the iPhone Restore ModeBackup to backup your applications, videos, music, and applications. This is a precautionary measure. Uninstall Quicktime, iTunes, and other Apple component software from your computer. Follow the process listed on the Apple Support page, Removing Quicktime, iTunes, and other software components for Windows XP. The link is available in the resources section. Restart your computer when done. To make sure everything is completely uninstalled run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Restart your computer. If you have a registry cleanup utility run the program and restart your computer.

Install the latest version of iTunes. Restart your computer. Open iTunes and connect your iPhone 3G. Once iTunes recognizes your phone it will prompt you to download the latest iPhone software. Follow the installation instructions in the Apple iPhone Software Update page. WARNING! Do not make the mistake of disconnecting your iPhone 3G while syncing is in progress or else you will be stuck in the repair mode again. These steps have hopefully helped you return your iPhone 3G to its original working condition. Even after a successful recovery your phone may revert back to being stuck. Should Children Have Their Own Cell Phones?

January 1st, 2010 Jason Stlotnik No comments

Cell phones are a part of life throughout the world, that is hard to deny. But what is the appropriate age for a kid to have a cell phone?

There are associated benefits and detriments to children having their own cell phones. If they have a phone too soon, they may become spoiled. When children receive expensive items when they are very young, they may continue to ask for more and more things as they grow up. Having their own cell phone may not only distract them from doing their chores and studies, but they also have ready access to other children who may be involved in undesirable activities.

There are, however, advantages to children having the use of cell phones. Cell phones can help them to be more responsible, and it also gives them experience with technologically advanced devices while they are young. Cell phones also provide a means for children to get help when an emergency arises and they need immediate assistance. It also gives them a way to check in with their parents so that their whereabouts are monitored. While it gives children more independence, it can also help them to feel trusted.

When all things are considered, most parents agree that the advantages of cell ownership for children more than compensate for the disadvantages. However, all children must be given guidelines and restrictions for cell phone usage, and parents should not purchase the very expensive phones, as they may increase the risks involved. It is critical for parents to be aware of their child’s level of maturity and sense of responsibility before giving him or her a cell phone.

It’s up to parents to choose to spoil or discipline their children — and giving or refusing a kid a cell phone can achieve both options. Of course there are factors involved in the purchase of a cell phone for a kid that go beyond age-appropriate decisions. These include the cost, the features available on individual phones, where your kids will be using their phones, and what content the phones can access, such as the Internet. These factors may also be regarded as benefits or disadvantages, depending on the parents’ perspective.

Acer F900 Specification

The Acer F900 is bulky. Come to sheer size, even Notorious B.I.G. and Bizarre cant hold a candle to the Acers heavyweight champion. Speaking of the former two, we think Notorious the movie is shaking on full screen and we do recommend that you shell out a few bucks and go see it. Erm, what we mean is “normal” theaters with even larger screens than the F900, which also features an impressive display that measures 3.8 inches and comes with resolution of 480×800 pixels. It has really good sensitivity for a Windows Mobile device and we didn’t encounter any issues with it. Image quality is less striking, because colors don’t gradate smoothly, due to the limited color support – 65k and whats even worse, direct sunlight turns it into a flawless mirror. Thats how we, your humble reviewers, found out we in desperate need of a shave, although the phone failed to deliver any other useful information.

Acer F900 Price in India – Rs. 24,500/- Indian Rupee (INR) Or $521 USD

We’re often asked about texting and text entry on handsets. The F900, as you would expect, has all the standard Windows Mobile text-entry methods from handwriting recognition to the normal QWERTY keyboard. You probably wont want to use the normal WM QWERTY as on the 480×800 screen it’s tiny and not easy to use even with a stylus let alone with your fingers. Thankfully Acer have included their own larger QWERTY keyboard for text entry and this takes up just over a third of the lower part of the display. The ‘keys’ are well spaced and large enough to press with your fingers without having to resort to the stylus. Text entry is otherwise uneventful.

I like the feel of the phone, and the interface. It is slow at responding to some tasks but I think this is down to the the UI and the amount of memory available to run the software, but at the price and with all the features this phone comes with, I think it’s definitely good value for money! The F900 is one of Acer’s best efforts so far, now I wonder what they can do with the neoTouch!? In response to a Windows Mobile 6.5, it looks like people have managed to upgrade it with ‘cooked ROMs’, but not via an official update from Acer, so far.
